Production
Sectors

From raw material to finished product, this is our strength.

The entire production process takes place within the Castelli Calepio plant, where plates, rods, tubes, sleeves are made and then finished items are produced according to the specific needs of the customer.

Our
Products

GUIN Technology production is mainly divided into:
  • Semi-finished products in virgin or filled PTFE, obtained by molding, extrusion and sintering;
  • Seats for ball valves;
  • Lip Seals energized;
  • Items finished in virgin or filled PTFE of any shape and size; Production is standard, based on drawings or samples;
  • Semi-finished and finished articles in polyamide resins, nylon, delrin high tech materials such as PEEK, PCTFE.
  • Products in rubber, viton and silicone;
  • Graphoil gaskets, round or square section packing for low, medium and high pressures.
  • Asbestos-free products and gaskets for flange sealing.
  • Antacid coatings for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.

PTFE
Production

PTFE, a material that we at GUIN use for many of our productions, was accidentally discovered in 1938 by Roy Plunkett inside an occluded tetrafluoroethylene cylinder.

The potential of the material was immediately understood; in particular, its high resistance to the most aggressive chemicals was what drew attention.

The American company DuPont was the first company to produce the material as a supply of certain quantities to the U.S. military engaged in building the atomic bomb.

Why choose
PTFE

PTFE's remarkable characteristics have made it a particularly versatile material that can be used in a variety of industrial segments. Moreover, these very specific features have contributed to its declaration as a valuable material.

Its main features are:
  • Complete chemical inertness: the material is therefore not attacked by a vast number of chemical compounds, with the exception of alkali metals in the molten state, high-pressure fluorine, and some fluorinated compounds at particular temperature conditions; in addition, this characteristic prevents fluids with which PFTE comes into contact-such as ultra-pure fluids used in the electronics industry-from undergoing a change in composition;
  • Complete insolubility in water and any organic solvent;
  • Excellent dielectric qualities;
  • Excellent fire resistance: in fact, PTFE does not propagate flame;
  • Excellent surface smoothness properties: its coefficient of friction turns out to be the lowest among industrial products;
  • Anti-adhesion: there is no adhesive that can bond PTFE, its contact angle turns out to be 127°.
The flagship of this material is the immutability of its original characteristics even at temperatures between -200° and 250°C.
The modifications that can be implemented to PTFE are aimed at improving its performance: special fillers can be added to the material to change its appearance, mechanical (elongation, tensile strength, etc.), electrical and physical characteristics.
